Today I got 3 of the 4 books I ordered. I had high expectations, but am a little dissapointed with the Gwen Marston book "abstract quilts in solids". I thought it would be more inspiring, but most of the quilts in the book don't do it at all for me. I like the cover quilt, but I miss colour in the rest of the book and a lot of the featured quilts are in fact a bit boring..
The second collaborative book however is as great as the first one was. I do love Freddy Moran and her use of colour and bold fabrics are MOST inspiring to me!!! It makes my hands itch and makes me want to run to the nearest quiltshop and buy more colour. It even tempts me to get my sewingmachine on the table, so I can make more in less time. So that one is a great buy!
The third book is all about quilting. How a certain quilting pattern can change an appearance of a quilt and what the effect of different quilting patterns are on the same quilt. I take quilting as serious as patchwork, so this book might learn me a thing or two!
I ordered a 4th book in which there's a pattern for a wallhanging I NEED to sew NOW! But as always when you really want something right away......it's the last one to arrive. It'll probably take a lot longer to get here :(
This pic is for Lotte. She bought me a few tulip bulbs and I want to show her how they look now.
Leuk Lotte: elke dag als ik thuiskom een verrassing hoe ver ze open zijn!

I've been considering that collaborative book and now that you praise it so highly I will probably buy it. Thanks for the heads up!
It is such fun looking through new books, especially if they have a lot to offer, but if one is a bit of a disappointment that is sad... It always happens that the one you want the most is last! That is just the way it happens! 8-(
The Collaborate book looks intriguing!
Beautiful tulips!
Happy stitchings!
